Ayurveda & Yoga in the kitchen

Cooking according to  Yogic & Ayurvedic Principles

Yoga means union — to connect, to bring together, and to create harmony. In the kitchen, this connection begins with the way we choose, combine, prepare, and enjoy our food.

In Ayurveda and Yoga, food is much more than nourishment for the body. It also influences our energy, digestion, emotions, and clarity of mind. The timing of meals, the atmosphere in which we eat, the way we eat, and the combination of ingredients all play an important role in supporting digestive wellness and overall balance.

These cooking workshops explore food through the lens of Ayurvedic and yogic wisdom. We will look at the qualities of ingredients, mindful food preparation, proper food combinations, and the deeper relationship between food, digestion, and the mind.

Yoga also teaches the three gunas — sattva, rajas, and tamas — the qualities that influence our thoughts, moods, and lifestyle. Through these workshops, we will explore how food can support greater harmony, calmness, vitality, and inner clarity.

As one could say with a smile: “Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you who you are.” There is humor in this — and also a little truth.

We are currently developing a series of live cooking workshops at Peaceful Ocean View in Rincón, Puerto Rico. These gatherings will offer a warm, hands-on opportunity to learn, cook, taste, and reconnect with food as a path of wellness.

Private online cooking sessions are also available upon request for those who would enjoy a more personal experience from home.
